IPC Abu Dhabi is a Spirit-filled fellowship of believers, rooted in the Indian Pentecostal Church of God and serving the UAE community with love and faith. We gather to worship, grow in God’s Word, and build one another up in Christ while reaching out with compassion and the Gospel to those around us.
History
The Indian Pentecostal Church of God, the largest indigenous Pentecostal Church in India, was established with the belief and framework of Pentecostal principles and doctrines. The administrative headquarters is at Hebron, Kumbandu, Kerala, India. It was established in 1924 and was registered in 1935 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, as Reg. No 9/ 1935- 36. IPC India has more than 9000 churches in various parts of the world.
The discovery of oil and the subsequent boom in economy prompted mass influx to Abu Dhabi, of expatriates, seeking job during the latter 1960s and former 1970s which also included the members of the Pentecostal community from India. Ever since then the community has grown largely in number. Hence worship services were started in different languages such as English, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Tagalog, Singhalese etc.
IPC Abu Dhabi had a humble beginning. A group of like-minded Pentecostal believers gathered together and started a prayer meeting on May 5th, 1968 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This turned out to be the first Pentecostal church in the United Arab Emirates. From our humble beginning, “God has helped us thus far”. Today we are a group of fervent worshippers, who have really experienced the true love of Jesus and we strive to live daily according to His will. We feel the presence of our Savior and we take this opportunity to welcome you to our worship and to enjoy the divine love of our Savior Lord Jesus Christ. The Indian Pentecostal Church in Abu Dhabi is the first Pentecostal Church in Abudhabi. God enabled us to commemorate our Golden Jubilee on 16th June 2018. IPC Abu Dhabi is functioning under the patronage of the St. Andrews Church Abu Dhabi for the last five decades.
IPC Abudhabi has been a part of the story of the UAE in that their members consisting of Engineers, Doctors, Nurses, Accountants, Teachers, Businessmen and women and innumerable people of varying professions and skills have had their respective roles in the building of the UAE in the past half century.
